When I graduated college in 1968, the typical corporate CEO got 20 times the pay of the average worker. When I became labor secretary in 1993, the ratio was 61-to-1. Today, the ratio is 320-to-1. Capitalism is off the rails.
Raising the federal minimum wage to $15 an hour would benefit 32 million workers and would give low-wage workers an extra $3,300 a year. I'll say that again. Raising the minimum wage to $15 an hour would benefit 32 MILLION workers. Let's get it done.

CEOs at Merck and Pfizer each make almost $50 million a year. A senior's median income is $25,000 a year. Pharma CEOs get rich charging the world’s highest prices. Seniors cut their pills in half and skip groceries trying to afford them. That is disgusting and has got to end.
Parents must be able to get childcare without struggling to pay rent or buy food. Children must have the best possible head start in life. We are going to finally guarantee universal, quality, affordable childcare in this country.
