An incredible story about a patient who got an unexpected diagnosis for his age. Recognizing the urgency to reach younger people, in 2021 @SitemanCenter established the Young-Onset Colorectal Cancer Prog. @adapthyun leads this effort & patient studies. bit.ly/4i35Ay0

Nice review on understudied topic – premature ovarian insufficiency in women receiving pelvic RT. At doses for definitive (or even pre-op) RT for GI cancers, risk of POI is ~100%. The benefits of HRT appear to far outweigh risks, so in my mind should be offered to almost all.

Another setting where SBRT underutilized IMO in HCC is bridge to transplant. I am convinced w modern tech, SBRT can safely prevent local progression in most. Study shows similar transplant outcomes post SBRT/TACE/RFA, despite SBRT pts w worse liver fxn journal-of-hepatology.eu/article/S0168-…

Sharing our NRG pancreas contouring atlas - now in press! Target volume delineation for dose-escalated RT in pancreas cancer has been highly variable, making it difficult to rigorously assess the efficacy and toxicity of RT. redjournal.org/article/S0360-… 1/13

We've had a lot of interest in GI-011 (LAP100) which is awesome. At the suggestion of @tedradonc, I prepped a short ppt to present to multiD colleagues. Email me if you'd like a copy. Closer to activation, I'll be happy to hop onto a Zoom call to discuss as well. Thank you🙏

Excited to share about NRG GI-011 (aka LAP100) – anticipated opening in mid/early 2025. In this Phase III RCT, we are assessing the benefit of dose-escalated radiotherapy in patients with locally advanced unresectable pancreas cancer. 🧵1/11

First randomized study showed PFS and OS benefits of local radiotherapy in pts with EGFR mutated oligo-met who received TKI.

Phase III trial of early thoracic radiation + TKI for #EGFR NSCLC @JCO_ASCO Pts received oral icotinib +/- radiation (60 Gy / 30 fx to primary + nodes, optional radiation to mets). Early radiation improved PFS (HR 0.57) and OS (26.2 vs 34.4m, HR 0.62). ascopubs.org/doi/10.1200/JC…
