EVERY episode when akane meets someone new or does something new or unexpected, it cuts to ranma simply watching her... his romantic feelings manifest in the genuine interest and curiosity he feels towards everything that makes akane who she is, what's part of her world etc
akane doesn't accept the challenge out of pride or for the love of the game, she doesn't care about proving herself or glory or wtv. she says yes without thinking simply cuz she's kind and she can't turn away from ppl asking for help
